MONTENAPO   hunter green suede

  • Via Montenapoleone is Milano's most famous street, world famous for being a parade of the top fashion and luxury shops. These slippers draw their name from how we Milanese familiarly call the street: "Montenapo".
So if you hear someone saying  "Dai...andiamo in Montenapo!"   it means  "Come on...let's go for a stroll in Montenapoleone street!"

  • This style translates into slippers the elegance of stylish Italian loafers and its QUADRA last* was specifically designed to achieve this look ensuring the utmost comfort you expect from your slippers.
There is a unique attention to details, you may notice the dark brown leather profile that runs around the top part and creates a subtle contrast which makes the look special but in a discrete way. This detail is enhanced by the stitichings which are unusually short (a virtuoso technique from another time...) and also in dark brown.
At last you can relax at home in pure comfort without having to switch to shoes to preserve your elegance if you have visits, quite the contrary....you will be happy to exhibit your slippers with your best look!
*a last is a foot shape around which footwear is  made, its specific design determines not just the fit but also the the silhouette and look

  • The upper is in luxurious suede* in one of our favourite colour for men's: hunter green. This colour let's you have a pair of slippers that make you stand out of the crowd but without becoming too eccentric. I consider this colour "a forgotten classic". To guarantee that the slippers fit and feel as soft as a glove we do NOT use any of those cheap materials that you find inside conventional slippers (fabrics, imitation leathers, pigskin, lower quality leathers etc) but real nappa leather which in this case is a dark brown specifically tanned to be used for the lining and the insole so even directly on the skin.
    * this is a suede made using a prime selection of kid goatskins creating a smooth velvety nap directly on the reverse of the top grain side (the side which would  show as conventional leather) therefore achieving softness while maintaining strength for wear resistance. It is not to be confused with the most widely found "split suede" on which the suede effect is obtained on just a split section of the leather so with a less sophisticated look and touch

  • These slippers are not only "Made in Italy" but still made by hand by artisans who work 20 miles from Milano in an area which is rooted into the tradition of luxury slippers  Lurabo's philosophy is to maintain alive the unique skills of these craftsmen  matching patient traditional construction and careful leather selection with the use of innovative materials which can improve comfort (e.g. shock absorbing compound for the heel area)
